Day Five

On Friday the 29th September the pilgrims toured the town of Tullow where the Patrician Brothers were established by Bishop Delany on the 2nd February, 1808 - and established the Brigidine Sisters on year and one day before.

Activities consisted of:

+ A visit to St Patrick’s cemetery where many of the Brothers are buried.
+ A history presentation by Mr Christopher McQuinn on Tullow, St Patrick, and the Brothers.
+ A visit to the parish church where Bishop Delany is buried. In the church will also be found:
- the Bishop Delany window
- the 1814 Bishop Delany memorial plaque
- a 1784 painting of Bishop Delany
- a bust of Bishop Delany
+ A tour of the Delany Museum
+ A tour of Tullow including Mt Wolseley Country Club which was once the Patrician juniorate.
